Hi,my friend is travelling on his own and has asked me to find him the best hotel in Bayahibe. He just got back from Iberostar Costa Dorada and apart from being hassled by prostitutes on the beach was happy with that hotel so which of the 2 above do you think is the best one?.
Anyone been to both who could draw a comparison? These two are the best two properties in the area, and neither is in the middle of nowhere. Both are of quality, close to nearby villages, shops on site and in the village, and the other village 10 minutes away. I personally think Dreams is the superior property for the extent of their drinks menu, their premium brands and quality food, and number of restaurant options.
I know that they have archery at Dreams, but can't assert that they do or don't have it at the Iberostar,. Are there other criteria to be considered if these two come in as close on the listed preferences? I agree with Kaki regarding the hotels. I did see archery at IHD but it was in an isolated space by the traders booths and looked as if no-one had used it for some time. See my report just posted for my comments about IHD and the problems I had with the pool etc.
I'm not sure if the building work on block 4 is finished yet at IHD but I wouldn't bet on it. Perhaps guests there will provide updates. I know there is an issue with murky sea water at Dreams which I understand is as a result of a river emptying into the sea nearby, however, everyone I met from Dreams had nothing but praise for it.
I just wish we had gone there instead of IHD. The walk to some local shops from IHD takes about 20 min passing the Casino on the way but dont expect too much as there are only a few and mostly souveniers. The better route to the village from the IHD is to turn right from the beach and exit the public beach into the parking lot.
